Chapter Three

FALLING AWAY

Some have chosen to live a perverted life, but harbor anger in their heart towards those who would confront them in righteousness, with the intent to restore them to a place of right standing with God.

I think this is one of the most horrific mindsets in the Body of Christ. The Grace of God is poured out into the lives of those who declared they wanted to know the truth. They hungered for righteousness. Even though they were church goers, their confessions were that of non-fulfillment. God was faithful. He met them in their despair and emptiness. They received the truth with gladness.

1 Thessalonians 2:13

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Herein is this scripture fulfilled in the lives of those who decided to turn away from the truth. There was a time when Heaven was able to rejoice because of your righteous temperament in receiving the Word. You did not war with your spirit as it gave witness to the truth. But even more, the truth began to have an effectual working in you. You no longer felt empty and unfulfilled. You saw your own disposition and character change as the truth moved you from faith to faith.

You could not then and even so today you are unable to declare that which you have heard to be a lie. You discerned the truth and it caused you to become a follower of the church. You looked for and did all that your hands could find to do in my house. You labored in the truth and your heart was glad when it rested in righteousness.

But now, even now, truth is an offense and a vexation to you. My servants are declared your utmost enemies, and my house is a despised thing. There is no peace in you. There is no clothing that can cover your iniquities. There is blackness where there once was light. I warned you of the dimness of the children of light. How great is the darkness they walk in. And again I warn you.

St. Luke 21:34

…take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged (weighed down, depressed), with surfeiting, (nausea and the headache resulting from drunkenness), and drunkenness, and cares (distractions), of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

But how is this possible? How is it that one so diligent and faithful in the household of faith, is able to completely turn away from the righteousness they once loved and cherished?

Hear me Sons of God; there is nothing new under the sun. Our Lord addressed this issue in the famous parable of the sower.

St. Mark 4:18-19

18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

The Father has addressed the falling away of once devout saints. He has sighted a mindset that is totally irrational. Many have not only entered into sin, but are also carrying a heart full of iniquity for those whom they once loved and respected. These saints can move to a place where they are totally or nearly irretrievable.

Whenever anyone confronts them about the way they have chosen, they quickly cite the sin they have seen in others. And God forbid, should they know of any wrong doings of leadership, they feel completely justified and comfortable in their stance against truth. They wrap themselves up in blankets of iniquities and judgments. They fortify their position with offense and pride.

In this state, many allow the offense to cause them to leave the church where they know the truth is being ministered. But note this; if they leave a church because of the unrighteousness of others, why do they not continue in righteousness? Thus, it is manifest they did not leave due to the unrighteousness of others as they would have everyone to believe, but they left that they might have an unobstructed, clear road to fulfill their sinful desires.

Others, leave in their heart but remain there in body to be an agitator to the movement of the Holy Ghost in the house. They allow their offenses with saints and leaders to propel them into the role of Esau. They never truly repent for their deeds or their state of mind. Though they take many trips to the altar, their hearts are hardened with mischief and evil surmising. Therefore, unless the Lord humbles them through His love for the sons of God, they will surely be lost.

I plea with others whom the Lord has identified; return unto righteousness before it is too late. Repent and humble yourself before the hand of God comes against you. Our God will be faithful to return His fellowship unto you.
