Back to the Spirit

I was lying in bed thinking about the upcoming Caribbean Conference I was to host in Jamaica. Usually, I would be excited about such a conference, especially since it would be a time of reuniting with the saints of God whom I had not seen in a while. This time however, my thoughts were different. In my heart, I did not want to go to another conference and deliver another message, without fully understanding why we were not fulfilling the mandates of all the other conferences. I had been ministering “Walking in the Spirit,” for many years. Yet I had not seen the ministry of Christ fulfilled in any of us. I wanted confidence in my walk. I wanted to know the will of God in every situation. I wanted to serve him with certainty and assurance that he will communicate with me in every situation I encounter.

I wanted to know when and how, to glorify him in the midst of the darkness of this world. I wanted to be assured that when I minister in the name of the Lord Jesus, the Father will honor my words and perform whatever deed is necessary. I wanted confidence. The following day, I pittled around in the office not able to focus on the study guide I was writing for the conference. The words on the page seem to have no meaning, and worse than that, they did provide me with any new hope. I was grieved in my spirit and my soul was disquieted. What were we missing? What is it that we have left undone? What is it we do not yet know?” I didn’t hear anything from the Lord at that time, so I began to write the things I did know. I started with the things he had spoken to us in the last Gathering of the Sons.

Deuteronomy 10:12

12 And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Galatians 5:24

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Summary Scripture:

1. To fear the Lord

2. To walk in all his ways

3. To love him

4. To serve the Lord with all our heart and soul

These things, have never and will never change. It is impossible to please the Lord if any one of these are omitted. This I know, because the scriptures bear witness of such. To fulfill this passage is to walk in the Spirit and faith of the Lord Jesus Christ. God has given us the ability to do so. Yet, we are not there. We are not meeting his requirements. Why? Is it our unbelief? If so, then what is it that we don’t believe? At some point during that day, I was in a conversation with my brother, Bishop Jones. Suddenly I was in a trance-like state wherein I felt a peace that is so very hard to explain. I know it was the peace of God, because it supersedes any comfort I have ever experienced on this earth. Just as one feels when they finally sit down from a long day of being on their feet, I felt my spirit relax in God. But just as quickly, I heard the Lord say,...“That is confidence. This is what you feel when you walk in true fellowship with me. I want you to have confidence in me. I want you to know that you are walking in my will at all times. There is no anxiety or apprehension when you know my will in every situation.” He made me to know that the peace I felt, was the emotion of the spirit when you are one with him. He also let me know that when you are walking in the Spirit, the question of what to do in a situation is mute. The Spirit of God will do in every situation, that which will reveal, exalt, and glorify the Father. Furthermore, while in a sharing session with Annestta, the Lord said, “You have deceived yourselves in your perception of walking in the spirit. But my word speaks on this wise;”

Galatians 5:24-25

24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

The death of the old man was permanent. He died at your new birth and you rose in a new life. You felt the difference in your physical body. It was different in that it was clean, holy, and without the weight of sin. You thought this feeling on the day of your new birth was unique, due to the death of the old man. But the truth is, it was the feeling of the new creature putting on the new man, (the body of Christ). It was not a feeling to be remembered, but one to be lived in forever. It was the emotions of the Holy Ghost you felt. Loving was not an issue. Sin was repulsive, and forgiveness was automatic. You were living in the physical and spiritual emotions of a newborn son of God. That feeling was never supposed to diminish. But sin and unbelief are weights that changed my children’s perspective of their salvation. Walking in the Spirit became something mystical and unique and not easily attainable.

But I have said that you live in the Spirit, my Spirit. The principle that separated me from my people is the same as it has always been, iniquity. It is iniquity in the heart of my people that has prevented the ministry of Christ.” At this point my heart was pleading to know specifically what kind of iniquity he was referring to. Was it that we held fast to unforgiveness, or lusts of the flesh and spirit? He knew my heart and all the questions I had. The iniquity in the heart of my people is that of unbelief and lust. My people lust for the things of this world. Many want to experience those things I have forbidden. They put themselves in situations and conversations that offend my Spirit. I am not referenced by them, and my name is not hallowed in them. They seek out the vanities of this world; as do the heathen, with whom they are fascinated. Your unbelief is manifested in your perception of your yourself and my Word. You have not believed the report I gave you, concerning you.

Psalm 82:6

6 I have said, “Ye are gods and children of the Most High,”

I John 4:17

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

But you have not believed me. Instead, you have subjected yourself to the beggarly elements of this world. You have brought your mind and body under the control of your environment. You have not considered that you are in the world, but not of the world. You have not believed in your heavenly origin, nor the power of the Spirit in you. Thus, you have presented me as a liar to your own soul. The iniquity of your heart has waxed strong and the love for me and your fellow man has waxed cold. You are spiritual beings whose power and authority has transcended the powers of this world. I have said;

Mark 16:17-18

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

I made many attempts to prove the power of your divinity. Did not Paul cast out devils; was he not hurt when the serpent attached himself to his hand? Was not Peter able to walk on water, as long as he trusted in the word of his master. But when he began to look upon the sea, and the fierceness of the waves, he saw himself as merely a man, and subjugated his mind and body to the power of the storm. My people have done the same. You have seen yourselves after the flesh and not the Spirit. You have not believed me. Therefore, you have made a mockery of your salvation, and in turn, put Christ to open shame among principalities and powers in heavenly places.

Matt.17:20

20 If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

There are very few in the Body of Christ that would publicly speak to a mountain, (Even if it were a situation approved of God.); and truly expect it to obey. Why? It is even as the Lord has said. We are carnally minded. While discussing this with apostle Mike, the Lord gave him a scripture that bears witness of these truths.

Romans 8:4-8

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Some may hold these verses to only site the differences between those that are born of the Spirit as opposed to those that are born of the flesh. And they would be right. However, in the sixth verse

he makes no such distinction. Those in the body of Christ who are carnally minded, are even as those who are not born of God. To see ourselves after the flesh, is to see ourselves as bound by the limitations of the flesh. It is to make ourselves subject to the dominion and powers of our physical and spiritual environment. It is to live as one that is not at all related to God. This leaves us to be simply religious, without power or authority in the name

of Jesus. This is iniquity in the heart. Yes beloved, the Lord calls it iniquity because we have not believed him.

Romans 8:7

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

By not agreeing with God, we have made ourselves enemies of the faith. We will not walk in the perfection of faith and obedience, therefore, we hinder others who are following our lead.

Romans 8:8

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Saints, we have to get back to that walk in the Spirit. We need to feel his emotions and desires. We need to feel his life again. As long as we continue to see ourselves as mere human beings, we will never please the Lord. Need I go any further, it is time to repent of this great sin. Repent now with a sincere heart, and the Lord will show us how to purge ourselves of this iniquity once and for all.
