Day 3: Count It All Joy

📖 James 1:22 – “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

👉 Reflection: Am I a hearer only, or a doer of the Word? Where in my life is God calling me to move from hearing to living? 🙏 Prayer: Lord, make me a doer of Your Word. Purge me of hypocrisy, and let my life reflect Your love and holiness to others. God isn’t impressed with outward “religion” but with a heart that is submitted, humble, and obedient. Our culture and character must align with His Word so others can see Christ in us. James reminds us that true faith shows in our lifestyle. It’s not enough to hear sermons or read Scripture—we must let God’s Word shape our character.

Be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger (v.19) – A meek spirit reflects Christ and keeps us from resembling the world. Receive the Word with meekness (v.21) – God’s Word is the seed that saves and transforms us.

Do what it says (v.22–25) – To only listen is like looking in a mirror and forgetting your reflection. Obedience brings blessing.

True religion is pure (v.26–27) – It isn’t about appearances or empty rituals, but about loving others (widows, orphans, the needy) and keeping ourselves unspotted from the world.
